Renowned Japanese actress and singer Miho Nakayama was found dead in her Tokyo home on December 6. She was 54 years old. Nakayama rose to fame as a singer in the 1980s and 1990s and is especially known for her role in the 1995 film Love Letter, where she played the lead role. Throughout her career, she has received multiple awards in Japan for her contributions to music and film.

After she missed a meeting, a representative of her management company went to her residence in Shibuya Ward. Police said she was found in a bathtub full of water. She was pronounced dead at the scene and the circumstances of her death are still under investigation.

On the same day her death was reported, her official website announced that she would not perform in Osaka due to health issues, later updating the information to reflect her death. Her management expressed their grief in a statement, saying they were “shocked by this sudden event” and shared their grief with her fans who have supported her throughout her career.
